over 40% per year, it might be easy to confuse Grabow Hardware Co. with
one of those "dot-com" companies. Actually, we have little in
common with the typical Internet firm. The growth of Grabow Hardware Co.
is directly attributable to its ability to satisfy customers in the real
world, face to face. From the start, Grabow Hardware Co. has sought to
simplify the process of ordering, delivering, and installing residential
hardware.
Before we were founded,
the process of purchasing residential hardware was fraught with confusion
and frustration. Most lumberyards left it up to the customer to measure
and order their own hardware, then let them wander through a limited
selection of products on their own, without much advice about the products
they were looking at. There were traditional "builders hardware"
showrooms that attempted to offer guidance, and some even offered to count
the job for the customer, but they still fell short because they refused
to offer installation, or they concentrated their service on commercial
construction, where they could "move more units". In 1992, to
make hardware selections simpler, offer more variety and complete the job
with installation for the customer, Grabow Hardware Co. was launched as a
true full service firm that specialized in high quality residential
hardware and installation.
Utilizing our trade
name, "Install It All", we specialized in hardware installation
at first. We found that the trim carpenters, who had traditionally
installed hardware for contractors, were happy to relinquish hardware
installation duties. They were increasingly becoming confused or
frustrated by the multitude of new products that they were being asked to
install. Homebuilders and Remodeling Contractors were especially pleased
to have a specialist who understood not only the hardware products, but
the installation as well. Grabow Hardware/Install It All was able to
supply intricate hardware products, drill and prepare doors for the
specialty hardware, and install the product perfectly. This attention to
detail was a revelation for the hardware manufacturers also; as they found
that there were fewer items being returned to them as
"defective" that were previously returned due to poor
installation or mis-application. Baldwin Hardware Corporation named Grabow
Hardware Co. their Nebraska Technical Service Representative because of
Grabow's abilities in service and installation.
Grabow Hardware Co. is
